Really wonderful historical hotel right in the middle of everything in downtown Memphis. Stayed in an executive king room. Room was nice, but no real view. Other than the valet who was friendly and helpful, service was pleasant, but primarily transactional and the only person I interacted with was at the check-in/out. The ducks are fun, but a bit much. Certainly a good experience overall.

Lovely hotel. Great interior views and great staff in all interactions. Check in, lobby, bar, and duck master. Nice place with a lot of cool history. Only “negative” was a bit weak air conditioning, but to be expected from an old hotel and super hot temperatures outside.

First time staying and have to say all hotel staff was amazing and super nice and helpful and welcoming! You get your money worth staying here! The room was nice and cozy and had everything that was needed except fridge and microwave but I believe those can be requested for extra fee. Got twin beds and kinda small like full size instead of the queen I’m used to but I think you can upgrade for extra fee but the beds were super comfy and very nice fluffy pillows. The bathroom had all the vanity needs if you forgot something which was great and I loved the duck shaped soap. They definitely have their duck signature everywhere which is a nice touch! The shade curtain looked like it came undone from the light one and the toilet was scratched up so bad I couldn’t tell if it was clean or dirty. Outside was pretty noisy but we were on a busy street on a Saturday night. Those were my only issues with the room. I do think I was charged extra for a drink that was 15 on the menu that bothered me in the lobby bar and at corner bar our server disappeared after brining our order and the bartender that was there never checked on us. I had to get up and refill my own drink…it was not busy at all in there. Those are my only complaints with the bars we went to. If you go to see the ducks just know 11 is the duck march coming in and they stay till 5 for duck march back to their beds. They do not march into lobby twice. Overall I would recommend going if never been before and plan to go back again because it is conveniently located to everything and if you didn’t want to go anywhere the hotel has pretty much everything you need.

Our expectations were significantly exceeded during our two night stay at the beautiful, historic Peabody. We travel a lot and usually stay in higher end Hiltons, but chose the Peabody due to its historical significance and location within a short walk of Beale Street, great restaurants, and Fed Ex Forum (we were in town for a concert). We were prepared for a smaller bathroom that is typical of older hotels, but not for the opulent lobby that constantly buzzed with activity, the beautifully renovated room, and very comfortable bed. Self parking was in an attached garage and seemed very secure. To top it off, the staff, especially housekeeping, was prompt and the friendliest I’ve ever experienced. I don’t take the time to leave many reviews, but wanted to thank the Peabody ownership, management, and staff for maintaining this gorgeous landmark and making our stay so memorable! Well done!

I loved this hotel, everything is as it should be. It’s not trying to be something that’s it not. It’s true to its heritage. The beds are comfy, plenty of soft pillows. I slept like a baby. Staff are all pleasant, not at all in your face. We arrived early and our room wasn’t ready, so we were allowed to shower in the spa after our long flight- which was fab and well needed. We attended the roof top party on Thursday evening which was a pleasant surprise but thankfully finished at 10.00pm. It’s in a great location and I loved learning about the history of the hotel. They have some great artefacts displayed around. I throughly enjoyed my stay here- only negative is the windows of our room didn’t open - and I would have liked a bit of fresh air in my room. I would 1000% recommend that if you’re staying in Memphis. You only stay in this hotel.

The Peabody encompasses old elegance in the South and has always been on the list of places to stay when in Memphis. My wife and I decided to celebrate a close medical call and splurged with the larger King-sized room. The room was spacious, although sparsely appointed. There was ample closet space and a hidden dresser, which we appreciated. The vanity area lighting though is woefully inadequate for a woman and her makeup, and we experienced some real issues with our room. The AC was visibly leaking from the ceiling, resulting in a large wet area of the carpet in our entryway. The bathroom mirror, with internal LED lights (from the looks of it), was experiencing some real problems and the lights around the perimeter would flash and strobe at random times. As the primary light in this space, it was annoying at best. Our shower head had most of its holes clogged (hardwater minerals), and was leaking badly at various places, resulting in very little flow. I brought these issues up to management, and the shower head was promptly replaced, the mirror was told could not be fixed, and the hotel claimed the AC was fixed during our 2nd day there. It was not. It took my personal presence in the room to point out the leak and a very good maintenance tech named Clint who took it onboard to really get the problem fixed, the 2nd time around. The hotel operator kept trying to connect me to the manager and the call dropped at least 5 times. I was then asked to come down to speak to the manager on duty (wrong answer). Ellijah did the right thing and came up to the room, and the AC was finally fixed.... Turn down service was advertised in the room but turned out it wasn't really being offered at the time (not sure why). Housekeeping also did not refill our shower amenities nor our toilet paper on two days. I was offered 50% off the first night, and 25% off the 2nd (we did not want to move rooms), but at a place like this, I honestly expect more from the very start. Jamil, the first manager I spoke with, had a wine and a snack and snack tray sent up, which is also nice. Outside of the room, the hotel offers a unique experience. Afternoon tea, a terrific dinner in the Italian restaurant, THE DUCKS, and relatively inexpensive self-parking. Terrific location! I can't say that I would stay here again (value), but I am glad that I was able to stay this time around.
